Responsibilities

As a Credit Analyst at American Capital Group, you will play a vital role in assessing the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and ensuring the company's lending decisions are well-informed and responsible. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to evaluate the credit risk of potential clients.
  • Preparing comprehensive credit risk assessments and presenting findings to senior management.
  • Assessing the credit history and financial health of businesses to determine their ability to repay loans.
  • Conducting industry research and market analysis to understand the risks associated with specific business sectors.
  • Collaborating with the sales and underwriting teams to structure loan deals that align with the company's risk appetite.
  • Monitoring the credit performance of existing borrowers and providing timely updates to the management team.
  • Recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential losses.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with lending guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in credit analysis or underwriting, preferably in a financial institution.

  • Knowledge of credit risk assessment models and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in credit evaluations.
  • Ability to work independently and make well-informed credit decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
